Mason Bees are non aggressive, natural pollinators and play an important role in agriculture by improving productivity. They are solitary insects and are easy to attract to your own backyard by simply providing them a home. Mason Bees do not live in hives, they nest in exsisting holes, preferably in wood. Here the females will lay her eggs, plug the hole with mud and let nature take it's course.
Ideally, your bee house should be at least 3 feet off the ground and securely attached to a tree, stake or post and facing south to catch the morning sun.
This is my newest version of the Bee House, made from recycled wood and metal.
